I BELIEVE

a life with God is the greatest choice you will ever make
Why do I need Jesus?

Why do I need Jesus? Why am I here? Who am I? How can I receive the peace of God in my heart? These questions ring true in so many of our lives; but you don’t have to live in question. The answers to these questions can be discovered by receiving God’s plan of salvation and by getting to know Jesus Christ. Simply put – Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the path you’ve been looking for. Your search is over – you don’t have to feel empty any longer.

If you have prayed the prayer of salvation with us at the end of our podcast show, then you have taken your first step towards a relationship with Jesus Christ. We invite you to take a look at the following questions for the beginning of your journey.

How can I receive Jesus Christ into my life?

Ask for forgiveness.

Believe in the gift of salvation.

Receive Christ into your life.

In Revelation 3:20, Jesus says, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.”

Jesus Christ wants to have a personal relationship with you. He is waiting for you to receive Him into your heart and life. All you have to do is invite Him into your life.

The first step is to ask for forgiveness:

“Repent and turn towards God that your sins may be wiped out and times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” Acts 3:19

Once you’ve asked for forgiveness, your next step is to believe and trust in the Lord and the salvation that is given to you.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. — Ephesians 2:8,9

You have received forgiveness and salvation as a free gift from God for eternal life with Him! Grace is God’s power working through you. God is offering you something you could never provide for yourself. You don’t have to do any special work for grace, forgiveness or salvation; all you have to do is believe with all your heart that Jesus Christ died for you.

Romans 10:9 promises that when you sincerely ask God for forgiveness and for Jesus to come into your life that you will have a new life in Christ. ‘That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.’ — Romans 10:9

Prayer

Let’s pray this prayer together: “Dear Lord, I know that I have sinned against You. Please forgive me. Wash me clean. Come into my heart and life today. Be my savior. I dedicate my heart to you and I promise to trust in Jesus, Your Son. I believe that He took my sin upon Himself when He died on the cross. I want to live for you all the days of my life. Thank you for your forgiveness, salvation and eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Live

Your final step in becoming a Christian is to live out a life with God. There is no magical formula to a perfect life with Christ, but here are a few things that will help you on your journey:

– Find a local christian church to attend. This will help you learn more about Jesus and form community with other believers to help you on your walk with the Lord. Don’t be afraid to visit several churches in order to find one where you feel that you belong. Some churches may be more or less formal or bigger or smaller than what you feel comfortable with at first. Don’t let this discourage you. In the meantime, I encourage you to visit or stream live services at our home church, freechapel.org/watch on Wednesdays and Sundays.

– Visit a Christian bookstore or the Christian section of a local bookstore to find deeper answers to your questions and further inspiration.

– Tune into Christian television programming such as Daystar Television or Trinity Broadcasting Network as well as many others to hear the word of God taught every single day at any time of the day.

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. — John 1:12

When you receive Christ into your heart, you become a child of God. You have the privilege of talking to Him in prayer. At any time. About anything. Spend time in prayer everyday; simply talk to God in your own way, ask Him to help you in this journey and to help you draw closer to Him in this life. He will guide you and direct your steps.

The Christian life is a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Best of all, it is a relationship that will last for all eternity. Welcome to the family!
